千

重 = 千 + 里 : Mnemonic symbol (from the shape of the character): this one looks like a space elevator. The two top strokes are the heavens, the two bottom strokes are the earth, and the part in between is the cabin (or climber) of the space elevator.

我 = 戈 + 手 : I (我) find Willy Walrus (w) lying motionless in the observatory's living room (o3), and there's a dagger-axe (戈) sticking right in his chest. I (我) try to pull it out while wearing a baseball glove (手).

纤 = 千 + 纟 : Marie Curie (xi) finds that there are many fine (纤) silk worms (纟) in front of the anthill (a1). She wants to preserve the delicate (纤) worms and thus puts a kilo (千) on them to press and dry them.

熏 = 千 + 黑 : Xu Xian (xu) is getting ready to go out on a data in front of the encampment ((e)n1). To create a perfume (熏) he smashes a blackboard (黑) to a fine powder using a kilo (千) and perfumes (熏) himself with the smoking (熏) powder.
