To protect his goods he distributed a layer of grapes (萄) on the floor and covered the grapes with sheets of artificial lawn (艹) so that the whole floor is cushioned very well.

干 = 一 + 十 : Guy Fawkes (g) is working (干) out in the anthill's bathroom (an4). He's lifting a flute (一) in one hand and a cross (十) in the other.
