名 = 口 + 夕 : Mnemonic symbol: a name badge (from 名牌).

Marilyn Monroe (mi) prepared a mandarin (口) for her bat (夕) in the engine's kitchen ((e)ng2) and put her little darling's name badge (名) in front of it.

山 = 丨 + 凵 : Mnemonic symbol: 山 looks like the tip of a fork. Sherlock Holmes (sh) is climbing a mountain (山) in front of the anthill (an1).
