寅 = 一 + 八 + 宀 + 由 : Mnemonic symbol: a plush tiger.

Maud Younger (y) and her plush tiger (寅) just graduated. Wearing their graduation hats (宀) they come out of the encampment's kitchen ((e)n2) where they had to study for years and celebrate their new freedom by drinking cuba libres (由). They also are overjoyed that finally they can spend their time just having fun: the plush tiger uses a flute (一) as a bat to shoot an eightball (八) into Maud's direction, who catches it using her graduation cap as baseball glove.

Maud Younger (y) forgot her keys to the space station (Ø1), all she brought outside was her flute (一). She has no choice but to crash the door with the giant flute.

宀 = 丶 + 冖 : Mnemonic symbol: the strokes of this character look like a graduation cap (宀).

Marilyn Monroe (mi-) wants to cook in the anthill's kitchen (an2) but she's afraid of the ants. That's why she builds a bunker: she uses a saucepan lid (冖) as the base, constructs pillars out of petals (丶) and uses a graduation cap (宀) as the roof.

由 = 丨 + 曰 : Mnemonic symbol: 自由古巴， a cuba libre. The character 由 itself even looks like a cuba libre.

Maud Younger (y) is taking part in a charity auction in the outhouse's kitchen (ou2). She is auctioning the dinosaur bone (丨) next to her and is speaking into a microphone (曰). In the other hand she is holding a cuba libre (由), and she is already quite drunk.

八 = 丿 + ㇏ : Mnemonic symbol: an eight-ball.

Beelzebub (b-) wants to find new ways to lure people into playing pool billiard. To this end he is meditating on top of an eight-ball (八) in front of the Ashram (a1). He uses a finger (㇏) and a banana (丿) as incense to create the right atmosphere.
