A mnemonic is a short, deliberately ridiculous scene, built to be hard to forget. Who appears in it and where it takes place are how the pronunciation is stored; the objects in it stand for the parts the character is written with. Tecumseh (t) is finishing the new floor in the anthill (an3). He prepared a traditional floor made out of earth (土) and is finishing it with a mug (旦). He is hammering the floor smooth and level (坦) using the mug.

How to pronounce 坦
