中 = 丨 + 口 : Mnemonic symbol: a dart board, because you always try to hit the center.

Julian Giant Squid (zhu-) is throwing dinosaur bones (丨) as darts on a dart board in front of the engine ((e)ng1). 科 = 斗 + 禾 : In front of the elevator, Karl Marx wants to conduct one of his science experiments. He wants to condition the matador to only eat cereals until the end of his life.

研 = 开 + 石 : Maud Younger is lacking salt for her ... . Luckily, there's a salt stone just inside the anthill's kitchen, so she uses a bottle opener to grind off some salt.

计 = 十 + 讠 : Joan of Arc inspects an advertising column in the space station's bathroom. On it there is an intricate pattern of crosses. With an calculator she tries to calculate the overall area the crosses take on the advertising column.

算 = ⺮ + 目 + 廾 : In anthill's bathroom it's Susan Saint Bernard versus the Eye of Providence. The Eye of Providence figures that it has no chances against Susan Saint Bernard who yields two double-axes, while he has only a bamboo stick. He calculates that his chance of survival is rather low.

机 = 几 + 木 : Joan of Arc (ji) made a machine (机) that fully automatically manufactures tables (几) out of Christmas trees (木) and tests it in front of the space station (Ø1).

网 = 冂 + 乂 : Willy Walrus (w) followed a secret treasure map (冂) he found inside of the anglepod (ang3). Finally he arrived at his destination and sees a net (网) of vines. He brought two pairs of pliers (乂) with which he forces the net open to obtain the treasure.
