过渡时期

过 = 寸 + 辶 : Gitta Giraffe is trying out her new gladiator sandals in the observatory's bathroom. She's even able to cross a puddle of water with them by just walking on the water, so thumbs up for her!

渡 = 度 + 氵 : Doggy Dog (du) is going to a party in the space station's bathroom (Ø4). To get there he'll have to take the ferry (渡), but he's worried that his drink will be cold by the time he arrives. He's constantly measuring the temperature of his bottle of water (氵) using a thermometer (度).

时 = 寸 + 日 : Mnemonic symbol: a giant pocket watch.

The sun (日) asks Sherlock Holmes (sh) out for a coffee in the space station's kitchen (Ø2). Looking at his pocket watch (时), Sherlock sees he has time, winks and "thumbs up" (寸).

期 = 其 + 月 : Recently the Queen of Hearts (qi) has become an astronomer. In front of the space station (Ø1) she sits on top of a watchtower (其) and watches the moon (月). From the moon's movement around the tower she wants to calculate its period and phase (期). She didn't consider though that not only the moon is orbiting around her, she is also orbiting the moon.
