筋 = ⺮ + 肋 : Joan of Arc (ji) trained so much that her muscles (筋) burst her harness in front of the encampment ((e)n1). To cover her ribs (肋) she makes a larger armor out of bamboo sticks (⺮).

膜 = 月 + 莫 : In the observatory's kitchen (o2) the moon (月) and Mozart (莫) are spanning a membrane (膜) as a trampoline for Mahatma Gandhi (m) to jump on.

炎 = 火 : Mnemonic symbol: As I just learned "itis" is the feeling you get after eating too much.

炎 = 火 : Maud Younger ate too much just inside anthill. She's sleeping so hard that she doesn't even wake up from the fire which is spreading fast.
