二 = 一 : Mnemonic symbol: a capacitor, because the two strokes remind me of the symbol in electrical drawings. Albert Einstein (Ø) is experimenting with a capacitor (二) in the space station's bathroom (Ø4). He finds that it's uncomfortable to discharge a capacitor using two flutes (一).

等 = ⺮ + 寺 : Inside of the engine, Don Quixote is praying in front of a Buddhist shrine. He brought a bamboo stick as offer, and he lighted it at the very top. Now he's waiting for the stick to burn down so he can go home. However, the stick is very long: Don Quixote will have to wait for a long time.

车 = 七 + 十 : Charlie Chaplin (ch) is parading in a cabriolet (mnemonic symbol for 车) in front of the elevator (e1), because he wants to establish his new cult. Like all successful leaders, he takes the carrot-and-stick approach: In one hand he's waving with a seven-branched laser sword (七), in the other one he's waving with a cross (十).
