四 = 儿 + 囗 : Mnemonic symbol: a four-leaved clover. Socrates (s) is working out in the bathroom of the space station (Ø4). He's lifting four (四) wooden boxes (囗), and wonders why they are so heavy. 肆 = 聿 + 镸 : Socrates' (s) beard has already grown very long (镸) and he wants to do something about it in the space station's bathroom (Ø4). Without the slightest scruple (肆) he uses a decorator's brush (聿) to paint his beard pink.
