A mnemonic is a short, deliberately ridiculous scene, built to be hard to forget. Who appears in it and where it takes place are how the pronunciation is stored; the objects in it stand for the parts the character is written with. In the outhouse’s kitchen (ou2), the Queen of Hearts (qi) sees a diamond ring (永) and wants to have it immediately. Determined she rings the service bell (求) endlessly to request (求) the immediate handover, until the service request bell finally breaks down (because to me 求 looks like 永 broken in two places).
