卜晝卜夜

卜 = 丨 + 丶 : Mnemonic symbol from "to divine" and the shape of the character: a voodoo staff.

Bruno Bear (bu-) tries to divine (卜) the future in the space station's living room (Ø3). He places a petal (丶) in the middle of the room as an offering and starts a magic ritual with his voodoo staff (卜). The staff transforms the petal into a dinosaur bone (丨). Bruno divines that the staff was trying to tell him that all things are mortal and must come to an end.

昼 = 尺 + 旦 : During the daytime (昼) James II of England (zh) measures the time by measuring how much coffee is left in his coffee mug (旦) with a tape measure (尺). He has the habit of doing so in the outhouse's bathroom (ou4).

夜 = 亠 + 亻 + 丶 + 夂 : Mnemonic symbol: 夜壶, chamber pot.

In the middle of the night, Maud Younger and Rosa Luxemburg bump into each other as they are emptying their chamber pot in the elevator's bathroom. They covered their chamber pots with a petal leaf and a beret respectively, and as they carry them they take care to walk very slowly in their high heels.
