Stapling together mnemonic images

To build , we need an image for . To me it looks like a staple, so I drew a stapler to represent it. It happens that I wanted to include some joints in the stapler, but they look like eyes, so the stapler looks like some kind of weird fish.

Let's have a quick review of the pronunciation representation.

Pinyin syllables that include the "ü" sound, that is yu, nü, lü, ju, qu, and xu, are represented by Greek deities. I really couldn't find any deity whose starts with "yü", so I just chose Aphrodite.

The pinyin ending sound "e" like in "yue" is represented by the Erechtheion, an ancient Greek temple. There are four locations to represent the four sounds: In front of the Erechtheion for "-e1", just inside the Erechtheion for "-e2", inside the Erechtheion for "-e3", and in the Erechtheion's bathroom for "-e4".

If you want to read more about the pronunciation system, you can do so on the Gorodish page.
